Well 2011 was another great year for Wicked Que. We won 2 Grand Championships, Winder & Tryon, NC. Winder was the second year in a row! Brisket was my overall top ranked KCBS category where I finished 23 in the country. In the Georgia BBQ Championship series I finished 5th overall, 5th in Chicken and 1st in Pork! Here is a secret that is only posted on this blog. Try half of the Classic and half Sweet Ga Heat on your next Pork Butt. It does wonders for me!
I am blessed to be able to do these contests and meet so many wonderful people in my travels. BBQ is a great hobby as it brings many people from diverse backgrounds together for a few days each weekend to compete, lie, celebrate, and just have fun.
I hope in 2012 I will meet even more friends and maybe have

1st Place Pork @ Cherokee Pignic. That makes four 1st Place finishes in Pork this year which is among if not at the top for most first place finishes in KCBS this year. What a great weekend for a contest. Finished 6th overall. I'm waiting for the updated GA BBQ Championship standings as this should move me up to 1st or 2nd. Thanks Tommy Ash for your help, again. Always good to see you. Next up Cleveland, GA. this weekend Oct 21-22.

Well we had a great cook in Jackson, Tn. Three of our were scores were in the 170's and a total of 680 was strong for most contests. Actually, my 680 would have won 5 other contests this past weekend. Shows just how strong this field was at the Regionals. Good luck to everyone that advanced. We had a great time and we hope Sam's Club puts on this contest every year.
